It's beautiful!

Etsy has a contest for making short promo video's for that Etsy handmade moment feeling. Only the US and one or two other countries can enter, so I'm excluded. :( But hey, that doesn't mean I can't watch what others are creating! I found this one and love the simplicity, the weirdness and how powerfull it is. Hope you enjoy too!

More salvaged flexies! (And a busy week.)

I did finish my second round of cuffs on Thursday, I just didn't have the time to post them here due to a very busy offline life! Went to visit a friend of mine in his new apartment, it was fun! First I had to take the train from Belgium to the Netherlands, and my friend picked me up with his car to drive the last miles to his brand sparkling new home!

Besides catching up on all the months we hadn't seen each other, we found the time to watch a movie and even went shopping a little in Schiedam. It was market day, so lots of snooping around, looking for nice fabric, enjoying the sunny day and watching the crowd. I truly enjoyed my mini holiday and love coming home with a fresh brain and full of ideas!

But first, I had to paint the bedroom... I put it off for quite some time but didn't have any excuses left, lol, so I put on my old clothes and dipped my brushes in the white paint to finally get rid of those awful, dark crappy yellow walls that somebody once thought was a nice color. I'm one happy girl right now, did the job and a sparkling white room is shining at me now, yay! But anyway: here are the last two cuffs in this line. My previous line, 'Abstract' went over really well, half of them already sold, I even had to make an extra one! I love those cuffs and hope they'll find their new home really soon. :)

Salvaged Flexibility

Taadaa:

Finally! The first two in a set of four are ready and up in my shop!

I like the... weirdness about them. :) I love to make one of a kind designs.

If everything goes according to my wonderful theoretic plan, the next two cuffs will be finished on Thursday! After that, I'll go visit a friend in the Netherlands, haven't seen him in ages, looking forward to it. So, I'm really trying my best to get the complete line of cuffs ready before I leave Thursday night!

Creating, the weekEND and last minute sales

Another rainy morning, but a sunny afternoon!

My latest creation has a little Japanese flair!
Tomorrow I'll start on the new line of cuffs, eager to begin, hope they turn out they way they are in my mind... :)

Here's my latest tunic top:

One flowery, happy little one of a kind creation!

Now time to enjoy my Sunday a little bit, it's already nine PM over here, so I'll have to hurry before it's Monday!

Oh and: last day of YART sale on Etsy today! I may have to snatch up some last minute bargains... :)

Sunbeams in my head

Yay, the rain has stopped, the sun came out and never went away today! My kitty is hunting for bumblebees in the garden, and I rushed to my studio to sew again!

Made a fresh and summery shirt, the fabric is so soft and huggable and light!

I have a basket full of fabric leftovers, tops, skirts, this and that and other material, and I decided to salvage it all and create brand new one of a kind unique tops from it! I love digging into that pile of colors and picking out the ones that make an interesting combination. After staring at them, layering them, dragging them around my table, the design unfolds itself and I start cutting and sewing!

I'm also thinking about some new cuffs, but tomorrow will be a busy day so I guess they have to wait until Sunday or Monday before they're born. I love it when I have a bunch of fresh ideas all thumbling around in my head. :)

Have a great weekend all, the rain will start again on Monday over here, but the weekend will be sunny, yay!

Neverending

So I live in Belgium. Used to live in the Netherlands.
There are 365 days in a year. Out of those 365, approximately 340 are rainy days over here.

Okay, I might be exaggerating a teenie weenie bit, but it sure feels that way sometimes.

The past couple of days all we had was rain, rain, some more rain, thunder and lightning, some more rain, rain and yet another hour of rain. Meh. The house is dark, the noise of the water drops on the roof is louder than the music on my pc and when one has to go outside, you better take a raincoat, an umbrella and your running shoes with you and try to get the heck out of that weather as soon as possible.

People always say 'the rain is ideal weather to stay indoors and be creative!' Theoretically, that could work. But in reality, I don't feel like creating at all after a week of this weather. Somehow, it drains all the fantasy and creativity out of me, and I'm left with a little puddle of former brain in my head. It's just plain old depressing.

But the most inconvenient part of the rain must be this: my little kitty loves to go play in the garden, but when it's pouring, she refuses to go out and have fun. I can't blame her! But all that little kitty energy has to go somewhere, right? So, she just runs around the house like a madman, grunting and jumping against doors and walls, attacking her toys like they are alive and screaming for attention. I kinda like that, lol, it sounds really funny when she's on her high, almost like a little horse in the house, galloping on the wooden floors.

The downside? She doesn't leave me alone for one second during the day! Usually, when I go into my studio, I lock the door (don't want any cat hair on my creations) and she goes to sleep somewhere. But after being trapped in the house for a couple of days in a row, not one little chance of her minding her own business anymore! Her elegy starts as soon as I only *think* about going into my studio, and her scratching the door and miiiiiiiiiiiieeeeeeeeeeeeewwwwwwwwwwwwws don't stop until I'm back in the same room with that little monster again.

So not much creating going on in this house for now, lol. I spend my hours doing useful housework (the kitty running around the kitchen floor I just mopped, the kitty jumping on the laundry drying frame I want to hang my clothes on, the kitty chasing the vacuum cleaner...) and, well, playing with a little furry thing on a stick that makes lifelike bird sounds when you touch it. The little kitty is all over it, it's insane! (And cute. And funny. She talks to the bird you know.) But sewing a new top or cuff? Not gonna happen today.

So please, mighty beloved sun, come out again soon!
Both kitty and I will be very grateful, I promise. :)
